If the providers who offer their services for free where reliable there would be no reason for paid services. Running these services costs money and that doesn't come from nowhere usually the money is raised by selling your data to just about anyone who wants it and will also hand over your information to the government in a heatbeat.

tl;dr: If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
