Hi guys, is there any method that still works on cracking WPA2? I'm on Ubuntu 14.04

I have been searching for days on the net but didn't find anything. The only things I found are:

- reaver, that apparently doesn't work anymore with Ubuntu 14.04, giving the message "failed to associate with…"

- wash -i mon0, doesn't see any network

- wifite, that see a bunch of networks but is not able to crack any

I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 with AWUS036NH

Any suggestions?

I don't see why the aircrack-ng suite shouldn't work under Ubuntu 14.04, anymore. Simply install it (either from repos or from source) and follow these instructions: http://www.hackcommunity.com/Thread-Tuto...ircrack-ng

i cracked few wpa2 passwords...and that's definitly with luck...just estimate the length of the password the characters involved and do a password list through crunch then use aircrack(airmon-ng..airodump-ng) read about them through the thread @HomeSen posted for now that always works...btw aircrack on my vio laptop does 1500 tries per second so that should be enough i think offcourse that's when you get a handshake
btw i did my calculation and found out to crack a password of 13 char length using all number all symbols with repition and with capital and small letters wich sums up to a combination of more than 70 charachters that takes up to 65 years to crack that password...lol so be logic man and you'll get it and offcourse be a little patient do your word lists and you can download some eventually you'll always need them not just in cracking wifi but in many dictionary attacks i just hate using bruteforce sometimes it's soo much time consuming and Good luck

What's wrong with using any other Linux distribution? Or the Windows version of aircrack (although it's far inferior to the Linux version)? This is just false information.

Yeah, I was referring to brute force attacks. Like reaver which I used on so many network but always gives me the "failed to associate" error.

I haven't tried the dictionary path though…I'm totally newbie so I thought the brute force where the best lol

Any suggestions where I can get good dictionaries?

Man please use google helps you a lot do a search considering you country for familiar names there for example

this website somehow made lost of wordlist from arabic names russian and so on
i here in russia look for russian wordlists russian names add some of my own through crunch as i said before and there you go you have your wordlist get it...

Personally i find reaver best for cracking routers with WPS enabled if you have a decent signal you should not get a failure to associate. if i do it i run it overnight and when i get up in the morning i have a WPA2 password. with aircrack this can take days/months/years depending on password complexity and length. with WPA2 you can have a password between 8 to 64 characters although i find most to be between 8 to 12, even so if you are trying to brute force this can take a while.
