UberEats Driver Uses N-Word in Interaction #1
Was just trying to order food from UberEats, nothing too crazy - just a few patties and cheese since I'm on a carnivore diet (but that’s another story.) When the driver showed up, we said our goodbyes, and everything seemed cordial. He was Spanish, and his english was a bit choppy so there was a slight communication barrier.

It wasn't until I opened the order that I realized something was off. Instead of 12 patties, I got a pretzel bun burger and fries without the shake. So I called the driver up, hoping it was just a mix-up.

But when I asked if he gave me the wrong order, he replied, "I don't think so, I only have someone named Miranda here." That's when I confirmed that Miranda was, in fact, the name on my order. And then, out of nowhere, he asked, "Oh, you were n***ger?" I was taken aback, to say the least. I told him yes, and then he repeated the racial slur twice before I hung up.

I’m usually too busy to care, but It's situations like these that make me question things and alter my view of people. It's not something I dwell on, but it's hard not to when someone is so blatantly disrespectful.

To top it all off, Uber refused to compensate or refund me even after I escalated the issue three times. Amazing company.

If only you recorded the conversation - It would've been an Instant dismissal for him.

On what grounds did they decline the refund?

Why couldn't they process It?

Just remember that you need to question every reason why a given event could not be done. It applies to all companies.

No joke I had something happen to me like this when I was driving for Grubhub.
I was in the process of dropping off a larger order, and the guy was waiting for me to grab his food from the back seat when I trip and fall in the car.
Of course, I let the old gamer's word slip out, call of duty style. Thank god the guy was just a Mexican, and he just laughed, tipped me 5 bucks too.

Apparently, they're still "investigating" this, but believe it's my responsibility to search for updates and reach out to them instead of them doing their jobs.

This guy was doing it in a means to be disrespectful, clearly. Even if it was funny, I would've removed his tip because he didn't do his job in delivering the correct order to the right address, and then blatantly disrespects me.

When you don't hear back In x-amount of days/weeks, always get In touch and ask where your claim stands.

This is why DoorDash is superior, never let a taxi company deliver your food
