UPS Government Agency Investigation

I had a refunder recently redrop a couple labels after they seemed to get lost in the transit flow and at the second redrop, they updated that "Your package was forwarded to a government agency for investigation"

Now my first thought is, damn I'm in trouble. What does this usually mean? More importantly, what consequences are there if any?

Also, what can I do to avoid any further trouble in this matter?

Can they link the labels to an Amazon account for false returns and so on? Unlikely but I'd like to hear someone chime in.

Where are you based? Was this FTID?

Don't make any claims for this label, they basically know its fraudulent and their claims team are looking at it, not an actual government agency

Most likely nothing will happen, just leave it

I'm in Atlanta but the FTID originated from Cali.

They've opened an Investigation and will liaise with the carriers who serviced the shipment.

It clearly demonstrates that the method's Inconsistencies/flaws, led to the Identification of suspicious activity.

Certainly agree that it is flawed. Just didn't expect they would forward packages to federal agencies if they really do.

Could they possibly connect it back to me? Perhaps if they really went to Amazon to connect the label to my account but that seems like a stretch.

If they pursue It, they can.

But given It's a one-off Incident and on the grounds you're not SEing a 20k Item, It's highly unlikely that It will lead to criminal apprehension.

Hey. What happened to your tracking number eventually? The last status never changed? And I assume you didn’t get in any troubles did you ?
