In my country they don't do a lot with weights and stuff. Maybe get some dry ice and place it inside the box. But a phone doesn't have a lot of weight so I don't think they really care.

If they didn't tell you BEFORE the email of that the phone has been shipped that you had to keep the phone and return it, you can tell them that you disposed it. Or just return an empty box.

If they didn't tell you BEFORE the email of that the phone has been shipped that you had to keep the phone and return it, you can tell them that you disposed it. Or just return an empty box.

So they shipped it already? I am pretty sure that you are safe to say (when it arrives) that you have disposed it and didn't know that you had to keep it.
