This Is very much similar to VeraCrypt.

On all my externals (HDDs and USB sticks), I'm running BitLocker encryption together with an encrypted volume via VeraCrypt- whereby all files are stored In the encrypted volume Itself. Even though BitLocker's default 128-Bit AES encryption Is good enough, for added security, I Increased It's cipher strength to 256-Bit via the Group Policy Editor. If an unauthorized user wishes to access the files, they'll need to crack "both" encryptions. Good luck with that.

On topic here, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your tutorial. Simplistic, easy to follow and very well documented.
