It's not the only way to get an IP, but it's probably the fastest..
Also I check to see if anyone else had posted a tutorial on this, before I posted it.

Why not post a link to your tutorial on an alternative instead of just being a smartarse - I
presume you have done a tutorial on the alternative ?
