How to SE iRobot 06-20-2014, 09:41 PM

Okay so first you need to get a serial number. You can do this multiple ways, YouTube review videos, CL/eBay method, or the easiest in my opinion, hit up best buy or sharper image and get one off the boxes.
Next you need to go on down to http://www.irobot.com/us and go to the support page. Register your serial.
Then you need to go to the contact us. Now, they DO have a live chat. BUT, I have found with live chat the SE only works about 1/3 of the time, where as with email, the reps are much more helpful. My theory with this is that the chat reps are outsourced from like some country where as the emails go to the actual company.
So fill out the contact form and for problem you wanna say that it is not picking stuff up off the floor. Say it is also making some weird grinding noise. They will ask you to take out the brushes and clean them, and like two more troubleshooting tips. Say nothing worked and you still hear a grinding noise.
They will say they will replace the device and ask for shipping etc. HAVE BEEN ASKED FOR A VCC TWICE, but not the rest of the times. They do expect broken one back, so when they email you in 30 days asking why it's not there, I usually just throw some story at them like we moved and it got tossed cause it was broken or anything like that. I've never gotten billed by iRobot but better safe than sorry haha.
Please don't just leech this method. If you use it, rep me.
