Not much risk, but if the game issuer is observing the channel for gameplay (let's say you SE an indie dev who is looking for exposure), never see's any, and then contacts the gameDev it would be easy enough for them to revoke the key and contact steam about it, assuming it's steam where you got the game.

I'd say worst case scenario you're Steam account is shut down, or the game revoked.

but if you're SE'ing Indie Devs, that's low imo. They're indie devs, they need the funds more than anyone else. Especially if it's a great game without much exposure

I did a lot of SEing mainly in my earlier days. 13-14 whenever I never had much money, so.
Some last year but I haven't SE'ed in a while.

But I do agree, and I usually support indie devs in any way possible now!

It would more then likely only work with smaller companies, unless you can maybe get lucky because usually the bigger companies are busy with a lot more things.
