Trying to work out how to make a website like this #1
The aim of the website:
I want to make a website that basically graphs data about how many players are in every single server on a particular game. Every hour it needs to scrape from this json file that's online which gives you current player counts and I need to save that data(I guess inside a csv file?) and the data I need to be saved is the current timestamp on the server, and the total player count(Grabs the player count from every server, adds it up and saves that total). Then after it's saved, I need to load that data onto the website whenever someone accesses the page, and the person can select an overview of the last 7 days/14 days/30 days/6 months/1 year and lifetime and it'll graph depending on what they select. Basically, I need the website to act exactly how this is done http://www.mauzen.org/samp/

Like I said, to get this data there is a URL I can access which has it all in JSON format if that makes it any easier, but I'm not sure how I can do this. Originally I thought maybe I can do this in NodeJS/JS but most tutorials about this I found where done in PHP. Obviously I'd want to make sure this runs and displays the data as quick as possible, but also I'm unsure if something like this could be done in JS/NodeJS. Basically, I'm trying to find out from you guys what could be the best libraries/frameworks I could use here as I feel this could be a good project for me.

Personally if I were to do this, I'd do it in Angular in combination with ChartJS or D3.js.

ChartJS is a little bit more simple to create graphs in, but you can do also less. Check out D3.JS if you want to make really advanced graphics. Possibly I could even set you up with a quick angular site (without the graph of course) so you'd only need to create the graph w/ one of the above libraries.

Angular is a great choice for something like this, since it would be able to pull the data once, and you could use it in every other page/graph you want. Of course, you could also create this in PHP, though I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

Yeah basically Chart.js was the only thing I was 100% sure on lmao. I've played around with it a bit in the past and it wasn't hard to get going. I'm just having a hard time figuring out how I could grab the data, save it and then load that data to display. I wouldn't mind if I had to use another language that I haven't mentioned, I only mention JS specifically as it's something I've been getting into and I understand it. I can look into Angular though and see if it can do what I need.
