A quick update on the situation, FedEx denied the claim and said that from the shipping to delivery, they had solid evidence that shows the package had NOT been damaged by them.

What "solid evidence" are they referring to?

They basically tracked from start to finish each scan and looked at their cameras. They also have a camera attached to their delivery vehicle showing the inside and the outside of the vehicle. Although I did not think to ask for the pictures at the time. I was having other problems and wasn't too focused on getting my claim approved. It is probably too late now to re-open anyway.

All in all, I am not surprised by this. I think the fact that I had to deal with FedEx Hong Kong made a huge difference (compared to having to deal with FedEx NA only, since the item was shipped from Hong Kong). Their employees are probably sharper and more dedicated to their work.
