Transmission #1
Well earlier today I went ahead and changed the transmission filter on my 2003 Dodge Neon SXT the fluid that came out did not look like ATF +4 like the transmission requires. Also I know it was done before in its lifetime because it had ultra black silicone instead of the gasket.

Well anyways I went ahead and cleaned out the pan, washed off the magnet slapped it all back together and threw 5 quarts of Super Tech ATF +4 in it.

Took it for a nice drive and could immediately feel the transmission was shifting more smoother. Floored it up to 118mph grabbed each shift perfectly.

Also actually had it beside another SXT model neon and it some how beat it even though its all stock it ran 7.9 seconds to 60 and the other SXT struggled to pass 115. I mean it is possible my car could have been performance programmed considering I got it from a used car lot from trading my truck in but idk.

Obviously those numbers are not big or anything but it is pretty damn good for a little 2.0 which I do plan to modify within the year.

RE: Transmission #2
Chrysler has been known to use RTV from the factory on those transmissions.

Really? well anyways it is a good thing a I changed it because it was seeping transmission fluid from one end. It was all old and dried out nor spread evenly. It has an actual gasket now though.

That in a way kind of makes me mad though that they would do such a thing from the factory it makes cleaning it up for a replacement annoying. Especially on a 41TE which is supposed to be there higher up version of the transmission you would assume they would put on a $10 gasket over a $5 tube of RTV.

$5 more seems to be too much for the auto industry now days lol.

I guess maybe they assumed that most people who buy cars are dumb asses and do not even think about maintaining the transmission.
