I keep reading that cologne is easy but I have tried and failed! I am new at doing this, did food (that was easy) and like to get some cologne that I never actually purchased. I need some tips or if someone can help me. This is what I've tried ( so you know Im not just looking to be spoon fed).

Contact gucci directly and tell them it was a gift and smelled bad, etc etc, I threw it out cuz it smelled foul. They said if it was purchased online they would need the order number AND product shipped back but since I no longer have it, they cant further assist.
Anyway to fix this? Or should I start over? And would I make up an amazon receipt if i contact gucci directly? I feel like they would just tell me to ask amazon support.

Be aware that, for all SE's, you probably won't succeed on your first attempt. You'll have to try multiple times in order to adjust and improve your method. Also you sometimes may get an easier rep or harder than other times. Don't loose confidence just because you failed once.

First of all you have to get into the mindset that you are a legitimate customer who purchased cologne and it gave you a rash or smelt bad. If you can't convince yourself there is no way you can convince another person


Ok, to answer your questions more directly. You can find .psd's for physical reciepts or make your own. This is so that if it's an in-store receipt they can't go an check it. Anyway you can just use a Amazon reciept one time to see if they do check or if they don't (this would just be a quick call, make up a bs excuse then they'll ask for a receipt).

Also what method of contact are you using, personally I find it much easier by phone: it's quick, more personal, and easier to convince. But you have to think quick or have it planned out.

Also yes contact Gucci directly. If they to contact Amazon say you already did and they said Gucci can help you, mabey make something up about how the error was due to manufacture and not storage of the product.

Generate a fake receipt and box them.

If you cannot get hold of a fake receipt, send them a corrupted file.

After I sent them an amazon receipt, they said "We do not authorize the sale of [...] products online except on our website. The only other websites that are authorized to sell [...] products are [..........]"
I guess I'm screwed. Not sure how to win this one! Even if I keep acting pissed, I dont think they are going to send me out a bottle
Edit: I just tried acting pissed and annoyed that amazon sells their stuff but they claim no responsibility etc. We'll see how it works but I doubt it.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to drag it out cause I want to try again and dont want it to be obvious who I am.. plus my fake receipt had my address :/

What were the companies that are authorised to sell the stuff. If they aren't all part of one parent company you could try again with a different reciept from one of those companies. Otherwise I would just recommend trying again.

I tried a few high end colognes, all give the the same excuse: We do know sell authorized merchandize on Amazon. They won't budge. I tried doing it worth Nordstrom and they wanted the receipt. I sent them a corrupted file and still didn't work. I think you can only refund high end ones and SE cheap ones.

Tom Ford- failed
Polo RL- never answered back

Did you try telling them that it was a gift? Also, you can normally find receipts online and just photoshop them instead of sending a corrupt image.

I said it was a gift in the beginning.
The auth. sellers are random shops I never heard of, and nordstrom and saks5th.
Yes I never purchased it yet. DOes anyone have a nordstrom receipt generator or something? I dont know how I'd go about doing/having that.
I think violent is correct, unless someone in here can say they have successfully SE high ends.
I wonder if it would be easier to SE a site like Perfumania, maybe say I bought in store, but I want to do with 3 at a time, only thing I can think of is place a real order, say 2 bottles broke, 1 was good, get part refund. Dunno if I can SE totally
