I don't personally like the comics because most of the things it said was a lie in Season 3.

The series doesn't completely go against the comics, they just do it differently because they have to make it faster paced.

They are going to end up not showing the governor next season so they make it think that he well not be coming back, but when we least expect it he might kill someone.
