In 20+ years of computing without any education In that sector, I've learned the hard way (on my own) and continue to do so. Never give up and always approach a given task with a positive "can do" attitude. This makes all the difference between success and failure.

I would certainly remember this valuable advice. My educational background is also different from what I love (programming + networking + hacking) but it actually is not a big deal.
