Textbook readings 10-12-2017, 11:16 PM

So atm I am on my reading week, and I told myself this year I'd actually read some of the material from the textbook. It's not like I'm slacking or my marks have ever been unsatisfactory. I normally refer to textbooks when I'm confused as hell or need to refer to a chart/table as a reference point to study or for an assignment.
How do you guys approach your assigned readings?

My schooling days are well and truly over. I don't have any certifications/qualifications, nor have I attended college.
However In my capacity of computing, I'm self-taught and as with schooling, there was (and still Is) the need to research, document, read and absorb all learning material accordingly. What works for me, Is consolidating everything In point form and documenting It In "my own words" In a way that's clearly understood, yet relative to the original source. I don't move onto the next stage until I conclusively grasp and comprehend the topic at my disposal.

Some classes, I wonder why they even recommend buying the book. Other classes, you won't pass unless you keep up with the reading.

Unfortunately the school I transferred to has a lot of their assignment dependent on textbooks so it's a pain in the ass, but in terms of testing, meh, not as useful tbh. Midterms have been showing me that for sure

If you can get away with it, most text books are scanned and leaked and available for download. Otherwise just find a nice spot, kick your feet up and read.
