Did one last week, was my first SE ever and it went very very smooth.. Just had some patiience, told them a nice story about me buying the Oculus as a gift and after  a week I got a confirmation of the refund.

Hi, I talked to their rep via the live chat and complained (politely) about receiving an empty quest 2 box.
Rep asked me to send a photo of the shipping box and told me to wait 3-5 days for a response.
An hour later I received the same investigation email that everyone else has posted in this thread.
6 days later they emailed me with my refund confirmation and that was it!
I also mentioned that it was a xmas gift for my significant other to build a story

Just had a successful hit, too. It took me 3-4 weeks of constant emailing, however, to get the refund. I said the whole box was missing inside the shipping box, maybe that was what delayed the process?

It's a standard request and won't Impact your SE, hence there's no cause for concern.

And they won't lock the devices or something? I just say the shipping box is empty, nothing inside, and get my money back?
