Might be a stupid expedient to catch us red-handed.
Yet, I still have to hear from people whose Quest 2 have been banned once using it AFTER receiving the refund.
just opened mine and it went straight to claim
2 hours ago I received a mail by Meta in which they said that all affected refunds had been reprocessed by their Specialist team and suggested me to reach out to my financial institution or card to see if the pending transaction could now be seen. Still, no refund email by PayPal.
Then, just a couple of minutes ago, I finally got a mail by PayPal. It wasn't about Meta finally handing out my refund, though; it was about me winning the dispute.
So, I'd say Meta kept telling bullshit until the very end, and I'm glad that PayPal was there to save the day!
are you sure it's a dispute and not a claim you won? to win a dispute I think seller decides not paypal and how long did this take I just opened my claim yesterday

Yes, I was told multiple times that my dispute would've been escalated to a claim in the case Meta and me couldn't reach an agreement after 10 days.
To my surprise, PayPal instantly approved my refund once the 10 days were over. Probably no escalation was neeeded, for I had provided them with so many proofs already that I couldn't but get a refund

Yeah they said the same to me. I contacted paypal regarding the issue, they said ask for the transaction ID of the refund. Meta then said to me they were experiencing errors and they will get back to me one the department have sorted it out. Will probably dispute on paypal now.

I just uploaded a screenshot of where they offered me a replacement or refund for now. Should I add something else?

No, that's just how PP works
If the seller doesn't answer in 10 days, your claim is automatically won by you
People have been exploiting this in the past with companies that were notorious for being too busy / not caring enough to answer claims
Samsung used to be one of them, you could order whatever you wanted, PP-claimed it didn't work, wait 10 days, get a refund, easy as that (and then Samsung would try to send a courier to your place to pick up the items, but you just had to avoid him and that was it)

Smells like yet more bullshit to me. Go for a dispute, seems like it's the only way lately.

I uploaded all chat logs leading to the moment they offered me the refund, the emails showing I had been credited said refund and then all chat logs once I discovered I had been credited nothing.
