Stupid server setups 10-23-2016, 05:35 AM

Anyone who's done enough DevOps work has come across (or made) an overly complicated server network, with data being bounced back and forth and the whole thing seemingly being held together by magic. What are some of the messiest setups SL has come across (bonus points for production instances)?
I'm currently trying to sort out a feasible data flow between an ssh server, a bower registry, a postgres database, an ftp server, and a web client at my co-op placement. I'm the resident *nix rat there so it's become my job to do that stuff, more or less.

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
