Stolen parcel - absolute MADNESS on Ebay 07-21-2023, 06:18 PM

Okay, I know this story is going to sound absolutely mad to most of you, but I will proceed with presenting what has occured after a parcel from Amazon was supposed to be delivered and went missing.
In late June, I made a significant purchase of an expensive electronic device from Amazon. The product I bought happened to be quite rare, but fortunately, the company had some stock available through Amazon. After placing my order and waiting a few days for delivery, I was disappointed to find that no delivery attempt was made on the scheduled day. Strangely, the tracking page indicated that the driver claimed I was not at home. I tried to be patient, hoping for further updates, but the tracking information remained stagnant after the initial delivery attempt.
When I contacted Amazon's customer representatives, they informed me that the parcel was either lost or stuck in transit somewhere. I waited for over two weeks, but there were no improvements in the tracking status. The whole situation seemed suspicious, especially since the delivery driver never attempted to contact me. Eventually, I received a refund from Amazon and decided to move on from the frustrating experience.
However, I did set up a notification on eBay in case any listings for the exact item showed up. Given its rarity, I thought it might also be worth keeping an eye on Gumtree for potential listings.
A few days ago, an unexpected miracle occurred. I noticed a seller with no selling history, based in my city, listed the exact device as brand new, at an extremely suspiciously low price. I decided to negotiate with the seller and asked for a discount. But before proceeding, I took the precaution of contacting Amazon to see if they could provide the serial number of the device for my records. To my surprise, Amazon managed to supply me with the serial number, and it turned out to match the one provided by the seller. This revelation serves as evidence that the Amazon driver must have stolen the parcel and attempted to sell it on eBay.
Now, I have found the missing item, and I purchased it, providing my office address for delivery. However, I have yet to make the payment. I'm seeking your advice on whether I should proceed with taking action against the seller to reclaim the device or if it's better to abandon the cause. If it is worth pursuing the SE, what is the most straightforward way to handle the situation on eBay? I'm quite amused by this whole experience and can't believe I managed to uncover the truth behind the missing parcel.
