Steam game SE on third party sites 06-14-2024, 06:36 PM
#1
Hello, I'm trying to SE some Steam games on such sites as Kinguin, G2A, Eneba etc. Today I wrote to eneba that the Steam CD-Key was already activated by someone else. They asked me to sent some pictures of me trying to activate it and finally to write to Steam support asking for date and time when the Steam CD-Key was activated. When I get the response from Steam I think of changing the date to like 3 days back, I saw a tutorial on this forum and someone doing it.
Has someone tried to do it? Is there a chance that they will reject it or the seller would write to the Steam support by itself afterwards and see if mine and the date he gets matches? Or no?
I don't believe in what I say. Everything is just fictional and made for a good laugh.
I don't answer PM.

Interesting
All I did with Kinguin was claiming the account didnt worked, password wrong
They refunded me, but the account somehow got banned after a week
With keys I am not so sure, maybe you'll have good chances, faking the date.
FYI, most of these keys coming directly from the game publisher. they buying it in bulks from them and sell it on their platform for cheap (profit for them)
Or they got it in an illegal way, such as using stolen credit card info
Today I received from Steam support that Valve's privacy policy doesn't let them give any information about Steam CD-Key's. Will see how it will roll out with eneba when I send this to them.

Update:
Got a new email from eneba saying that the seller checked the Steam CD-Key with the the developers/publishers of the game and they confirmed that before I bought the key, it was not activated and that when I bought it was activated.
Maybe for the next try I have to make more research on the sellers and try to get one with bad rating or the one that sells keys that are stolen or etc.

If you get the right rep they will tell you when the key was activated. Did it multiple times and then changed the actual activation time.
In most cases, if you send the screenshot the third party seller (e.g. Kinguin), they refund you. I also had some cases where they ask the Steam support from their side to confirm it. In this case, the SE will obviously fail.

I had success on g2a with some Asian seller sometime ago, he gave me refund without any questions. But it takes time to find the right seller that's I could SE. This time I just wanted to see what happens and what is the process.
So kinguin didn't contact the seller or I didn't misunderstand something?

Just make a Turk or argentine steam account with a VPN then buy a gift card in that currency, the games are like 90% off because of the currency. Faster option if you don't mind spending a few dollars. Or SE the gift cards.

I think that Valve fixed and it doesn't work anymore, they started to use USD for it and the specific prices disappeared unless the game developers/publishers lowers prices for individual games.

I've refunded a few different orders through G2A. I tend to buy a few of the 'Random 5/10' games packs first, so there's atleast something spent. they are always garbage but they're also the cheapest to make it look legit.
