Yeah I had hoped @Oni would make an announcement, but guess not.

The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

When it comes to DDoS attacks, I avoid making announcements. If possible, I'd prefer we not be associated with that sort of behavior. The attack only lasted for 6-10 hours but we were offline much longer. This is because we had an older plugin that was causing problems and I decided to set up future protections. With the plugin fixed and protections in place, future incidents should be more manageable.

If you found that you were out of the loop, I highly recommend joining the Discord. Whenever we go offline I post updates and answer questions.

Thank you for your efforts during that period. I know you worked long hours for SL.

I completely overlooked this thread.

Oni's efforts are well and truly appreciated on my end too. I know what It's like to run a board on this scale, and It's not easy maintaining It on the same level of operability on a consistent basis.

I don't envy his position, that's for sure. However, there aren't that many people that would put the time and effort in that he does. Save, perhaps yourself!

Yes, he certainly generates a lot of time and effort toward this board and I "sort of" know how he feels.

From the moment I log on, I check "every new post" to make sure It's compliant with the rules. This takes anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour- depending on content, activity and action taken. Moving threads predominantly takes up most of my time. I always make sure to reply when I move threads, just to make the OP aware that It belongs In the forum of where It's moved.

Your efforts never go unnoticed. I am so grateful to have you as a fellow staff member, and quite easily the best staff member we've ever had.

I truly appreciate your kind words. It's this, that gives me the motivation to keep moving forward and strive towards establishing one of the best technology and security boards on the planet.

I've registered on countless boards over the last 2 decades, and our community Is by far the best of the lot.
