While I think this is a good idea, I do think some form of chatbox is needed, but have a rule that no links / raiding talk in the chat. That way we can chat and the raid section can still be good.

I will make the site just as instant as the shoutbox was., I have some ideas in mind. Just trust me. I got this

Yes, you can now post the same information that you could post in the shoutbox on the forum. This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, Skype usernames, Facebook profiles, and addresses.

Sure, the forums are more precise for getting exact details collected/stored, but for the majority of the raids I'd participated in, there were two main types of participants:
Group 1. The information searchers/gatherers
Group 2. The harassment squad.
Seeing as how, for the majority of targets, all we needed was a skype to get things going, we didn't really need to store the information centrally.
Group 1 was a small group composed of self sufficient, self organizing individuals who don't need the extra stability a forum provides.
Group 2 was the majority, and generally did well at honing in on information collected and distributed by group 1.
What you're going to see in a forum environment, is a huge culling of group two, as their ability to move fluidly from target to target is hampered by the change.
