Security Brief: United Nations Cyberattack #1
The United Nations recently revealed it was the victim of a cyberattack in 2019. Hackers gained access to and compromised 42 servers and 25 are still categorized as suspicious for three different domains: those of United Nations offices in Geneva, Vienna, and of the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights

As the internal IT team continues to assess the damage this hack has caused it is important to determine how hackers infiltrated one of the leading world organizations, and how communication between UN officials and their employees may leave them open to further attack.

This just goes to show that anyone and any organization is vulnerable to a cyber attack. Always keep your systems and applications up to date, and do the most you can to protect yourself.

I'm sure some kind of zero-day exploit was used. Hacking into an entity such as The United Nations is no easy feat.

Given this has made headlines, I've moved It from the Compromised forum to World News.

I've personally compromised many companies on a very large scale, which clearly demonstrates that any entity Is susceptible to exploitation.
