Sealed box sealing methodology and tools 11-30-2022, 04:13 AM

I have just bought in a heat gun, heat sealer and some shrink wrap and had a go at sealing up some boxes I have laying around with the film. Boy did those sealed boxes look like shit, it looked like a 2 year old used cling film and a lighter to seal the boxes
I know it will take some practice to get my technique down but i was wondering if you guys had any tips on this front ? I cheaped out on the shrink wrap, im wondering if there is any particular brand or any specific type of plastic film that may be best suited for my purposes. I know that mothered linked up some examples in the blog but i dont want to wait forever for them to be shipped from china so i bought from Amazon instead. On YT i saw people sealing boxes using a film that came off the roll already sealed on 2 sides, that looks like it might make things easier.
To be clear here I am not talking about items like the macbook which have a custom seal on them, for those items I would just buy the sealing materials for that specific item. I am talking about replicating the more general outer plastic film you see on a lot of products.
I have read mother's blog about the SBM so i feel like i have a pretty good grasp of the method just wanted to see if anyone had anything to add to maximize chances of success.
