So I broke my phone and really didn't have the money to fix or replace and the way it was broke wouldn't have been covered under the warranty. So I used alternative means and said that it was defective and that it was leaking battery acid. So I thought you couldn't send said item in the mail in this condition. Well I was thrown through a loop Samsung told me that they had to evaluate the device before given a replacement and they would send a special box with FedEx to ship it. I told them that I threw it away for health and safety concerns cause I had small children I'm the house. They asked me if I could retrieve the device, even though I told them it was in a large dumpster. They said they were going to have to deny my claim unless they got the device in question. So i think that is a bust and just going to have to buy a new one. But I'm just putting my failure for all to know, cause apparently they are doing different things and those routed are not viable anymore.

Given they're arranging the return with the said box, they'd be responsible for loss of goods during shipment, so box them.

If you're not comfortable with the above approach, request your claim be escalated.
