Samsung DNA & PR / Carrier report #1
Trying Samsung DNA. Ordered 2 items, one was a TV, the other was a phone.
The items were in different packages, through different carriers. I am trying to DNA the phone, which was sent through FedEx. Samsung asked for a PR. The local Police Dept. has no online reporting, so I called, told them what happened, and they said I'd need more evidence before they could file it. They said I should take it up with FedEx.
It was sent to a college mail room, picked up with student ID. It was signed for by an employee there.

What's the next move?
I guess I should submit my report to FedEx. Anything to be weary of? If I report to FedEx and they confirm it was delivered, what difference does that make? The tracking already said delivered. Will I need some sort of additional evidence?

Idk if it's different in the Europe but Samsung basically don't refund for DNA especially expensive items that require signature. They don't really care who signed it as long as courier shows it was delivered to the address/location. You are not going to get them to refund you with the oldest scam method of wrong signature. They also have CCTV if you claim EB and will provide you the photos.

Them asking for a PR don't mean they will refund you btw., So ask them if they will reimburse you if you file this report. Then find a way to obtain the PR. They usually just tell you to take it up with the courier/Bank.

They indicated they'll refund me. Currently waiting on FedEx. Debating saying I found it, then boxing it, which worked easily before for different account/info.
Not sure what fedex would say that police would take as "evidence".

If they are saying they will refund you then do it. Shouldn't be hard, you can just tell the police you need to document the issue for insurance purposes and you understand they may not be able to do much on their side.

Update: After much hassel, I finally got a response to my PR submission:
Quote:Based on our review of the information and documentation you provided to us, we have determined that your request is not eligible for a refund.

In addition, a copy of the police report sent to us was not authentic. Submitting any false reports for a claim requires us to permanently suspend your account from placing future orders.

This is our final message to you regarding this situation. We are officially closing this request, and any further inquiries regarding this matter will not receive a response.

I submitted an actual PR, with my real info. What now? I'm thinking that a phone call might be worth a try, but I don't imagine it'll get me anywhere.
Is this a case where I should request a chargeback from my bank?

Okay, update time:
I filed a chargeback request with my bank. While waiting for that, I called Samsung several more times. Eventually Samsung caved, and approved my refund. They were stubborn, but persistence paid off.
Previous Samsung SE w/ Boxing method was unbelievably easy.

Thanks all for your guidance!

Congrats, yea they are hell when it comes to DNA/EB. Even after a PR they still tell you they won't be refunding.

btw your previous boxing, was the IMEI blocked? I am guessing it wasn't since it was 'returned". A friend had their phone imei blocked after a charge back.

It's been over 2 months of using the boxed one, and still not blocked!
I'm hoping this one isn't blocked either bc I had planned to sell it.
