I emailed an Asian company that sells certain kitchen gadgets only through a m z claiming my product (valued much less than 100 euros) won't power on anymore and provided a fake POP. They first said they couldn't locate my order and to contact amz. Then I replied that amz told me to contact them directly since the return period has expired and it's a warranty issue (their products have a 2-year warranty). Then, the agent replied: "We've been able to locate your order thanks to Amz customer service and we have found that your payment has been returned in full". Obviously the order number doesn't exist so I know they made it up. Is there anyway to save this or should I just give up?

Ask the rep to name the payment system that the refund was generated Into.
Also ask him/her to read out the last few digits of the account/credit card number (for security reasons, they cannot see everything). No doubt It'll conclude they made the whole thing up.
What's the point of asking that besides getting a laugh off of it? I know they made the whole thing up to get me off their backs.
it is most likely illegal to lie about refunding a customer so if they get caught in a lie youll have a better chance at a refund
"I unequivocally affirm my steadfast disapproval of any manifestation of fraudulent and or any other illegal activities."
