I have an order coming in delivered by DPD, got an email confirming the date of the delivery and they sent me the pin for me to get the delivery.
I plan on DNA because the product is too heavy.
What can I tell the courier or what is a good excuse for him to leave it outside of my house?
Also if this fails and I will have to give the pin to the courier is there any other option I have ?

Also, the item is shoes worth roughly 160EUR.

EDIT: It worked I have successfully received a refund for the shoes. And I returned the cheaper pair.
Advice: formulate your method beforehand to not run into the same troubles as I did

You cannot DNA It - the code/PIN must be provided to accept the package.

Ah shit, I already received the package and told the courier I wasn't home to leave it somewhere by my house and they did. Is there a different method I could use now?

Thank you you are a life saviour. Since it's the weekend I have time to go in-store and purchase different item. Because their customer service works only from monday to firday.
Hovewer can I use just any item that I purcahse ? Like can I just buy socks and tell them they sent me socks. Because the shoes are pretty cheap.
Plus can I go in store or does the item have to be sent from the warehouse for it to make more sense ?

With WIR, weight needs to be exact or slightly similar to original weight. You can also try socks on a braindead agent. It will still work but chances are low. If you decide that route use foolishness and keep rotating between agents if they don't decide to refund you. Lines like inevitable fulfilment errors, incorrect processing of goods, issues in an order's journey like potential consignment switches or some shit could increase your chances of success.

In short, the wrong Item weight needs to match (or very close to) the original Item.
