SE'ing Lenovo for 3K #1
Hello together,
i am pretty new to this forum and wanted to share my experience from my Lenovo SE, that came to a success.
First of all, I want to mention that English is not my main language, so I apologize for my grammatical misstakes. I would say, that I am a really Experienced SEer and i am doing this for almost 6 years.

Let's get to the method i used on Lenovo. If you have any question you can reply on this thread.
It's really important to think of everything, if you are trying to SE (even more important if you are SE'ing high value items).

1. First i researched Lenovo for about 2 days straight. I'm not explaining it here but i wanted to mention it here. Go on SocialEngineers.Net from @mothered, then you will find some really really good Tutorial's and mentoring.

2. I searched some Serial number's on Craigslist. After a while i found a laptop worth about 3k, with pictures of everything (laptop from top, all sites and also serial number + proof of purchase). This was great, because I didn't need to contact the seller, so he didn't recognize anything. Always search for products, that are in warranty.

3. Lets get to the method. I contact Lenovo with a fake business Mail, that was nearby my drop house, with a fake name. I contact them via call and i was telling them, that the laptop didn't work and some liquid was running out of the laptop, after i wake up. The support told me some trouble shooting, but i said, that nothing worked and always moved anything.

4. After a while the support told me to sent them proof pictures. This is the hardest part of my SE. I photoshopped 3 pictures of the laptop and added some water points, to the table. I found a similar table at a friends home and put some water on it and took some pictures, which i added to the pictures. VERY IMPORTANT: Delete the EXIF on the picture! Google it, if you don't know how to delete the EXIF file. After everything was prepared i sent them the pictures.

5. A supervisor replied to my mail and said, that i need to sent it to them for a repair service. This was perfect, because i knew they are shipping with UPS and from old experiences i knew, that there is only a small chance, that they will check the barcode. I've got an prepaid shipping label from them and prepared a FTID with the perfect weight.
I shipped the prepared package. ALWAYS use gloves and a hair net while doing this!
After i shipped it, i messaged Lenovo and said, that I need the laptop for my work, otherwise i will get kicked out of my business. I play with that story hard and also mentioned, that i got an family and kids.

6. When I saw that the package arrived I asked 2 days later if they found anything. They sent a Mail to the repair service station.
After 4 days I got an email that the laptop was lost during the repair and I get a new one. The laptop, that i was SE'ing was not available, which is why I got a different and even expensiver laptop.

7. SUCCESS!

I could easily order it from Amazon or another store and claim a DNA, but it only leaves another tracking opportunity.
The FTID method is not easy to perform and it can come to a fail!
This is not a 100% Guide, but i wanted to share my Experience on that. Like the thread, if this was useful to you anf also reply to it.

Unfortunately, I don't want to share them, because my privacy is very important to me. Even if i have used a drop adress and a fake name. Sorry for that Sad

Good share, well done Smile

How's the new laptop? Did you end up using it or just selling?

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

How did you do FTID. Did you just attach label they sent to random (same supposed weight of a laptop) package or did you change anything in label?

I changed the name, address, phone number, serial number (From the product) and changed the bottom barcodes. The weight of the parcel was the same as the laptop.
Don't change the barcode in the middle otherwise the FTID can fail.

So you gave them you real name and then once they sent the label you changed it? Are the company still gonna receive the package or it will show up as delivered in nearby area? I am trying to understand how FTID process works
