If there is an OTP the will inform you when they ship it, so if it’s already in the carrier truck it should be with no OTP

Thanks! I kind of worded it unclear though , it's not with the carrier yet, just "shipped" status . it's supposed to arrive in a few days

Yep so here we go:
Delivery service says they come by this evening, which is a day earlier than it was supposed to. Amazon also still says on their tracking that delivery is expected tomorrow evening. ,(I think that works in my favour!)
Carrier doesn't ask for OTP or signature. (like guys damn,,, we're talking about an expensive laptop here )

What would be my best bet? Making sure I'm not at home during those times? I like to take long walks in the evening, so if need be I could even use the tracking data of that to show I wasn't home
Only thing is, my neighbour who shares a door with me is home, I don't want or can involve here in my SE (she's 93)
Just leave the house and hope for the best?

Also I do have the option to ask them to place it somewhere around my house but I figure I shouldn't do that because of liability?

You're good to consider DNA then. If the carrier will ask you to sign, just write clearly another signature in a way it can be shown that indeed it wasn't you who received the package. I don't think it really matters if you're home or not; be aware though, amazon may ask for a PR, which is just standard procedure

They didn't even knock on my door:
The 93 yo neighbour and here daughter were outside, when the driver came she (the driver) said , this is for housenumber XXa, (they live on XX, I on XXa)
The daughter accepted the package,, didn't sign or anything.

So even if the driver says she delivered to the neighbours I should be good because I didn't authorize that.
Only 2 things I'm still a bit scared of : them investigating and talking to my neighbours, who will defenitely say they got it and gave it to me
The police report: I accidentally (yes for real, not sarcastically) shoplifted a year ago and got arrested for that. No charges, but because I was arrested I have a criminal record (if that translates welll in the same meaning as my language) will this be a danger for the police report? It hasn't been an issue and I've been able to get a certificate of conduct after, but IDK might that be an issue?

Also for the dna, can I call amazon tomorrow or should I wait?
I think I'll call, and say I'm confused because I received an email stating the delivery was done, but I haven't received anything. I can kind of play dumb because I ordered a laptopsleeve with it, which hasn't arrrived either (it's supposed to in 2 days) , but just act all confused like, I ordered a laptop and a sleeve and I received the delivery email but haven't even seen the delivery service etc?

No point in waiting a few days then right? Since I got the delivery conformation email?

If amazon investigates it they don't send people out to ask questions like the police; however may happen that the carrier guy that delivered the box may come and knock on your door and ask more about it, but they don't have any rights to do that and it is also violation of privacy. In fact you're not obligated to answer his questions and concerns and you're good to ignore that.

On the other hand, about your criminal record I don't want to express too much as I don't know what it could mean;

Called them, guy felt really sorry for me, couldn't offer a replacement since I had the last one
He said to wait if it came today, and if so, to email him, but if it didn't he would just go ahead and refund me tomorrow.
No investigation etc, just this call

Am I good turning the laptop on already? It's an acer
