Returning SE'd items #1
I have a idea of returning a SE'd item so like SE a item from walmart get a refund and bring it to the store say it was a unwanted gift and get a store giftcard. So you would get your refund and a additional gift card. Would this work? My fear is that it would come up as stolen and leave the store in handcuffs.
By any means necessary I will get paid

It depends If their Invoice/accounts department marked It as a write-off at the time of when the refund was processed.

If so, It will be flagged when returned & scanned.

In theory it would work. However, I know with Walmart specifically when you go to return an item they require your ID. So, it’s up to you if you want your ID linked with that return. Not sure the reward would be worth the risk. Only absolute way to find out is to try it.

Do they take a copy and keep It on record against the return, or verify It visually?

I've returned stolen items back to a Walmart. To my knowledge (may have changed, this was 6-7 years ago) they don't have a company database, it's store to store, Meaning they all keep independent records. I had a friend working there confirm it too. So your best bet would be to SE from Walmart A, go to Walmart B (Preferably as far as you can get from Walmart A), Get gift card and spend at Walmart C

I don't know if that is a local thing but at my walmart i returned something with no ID needed just a receipt but if it was a gift they could just scan it in.

I was going to say no but it looks like someone beat me to the punch with a more informative post. I can confirm on that bit though, that they did not create a copy of the ID.

Thanks for your reply.

It seems like Walmart don't keep a record of the ID, or do not request It to begin with. In my locality, Target (In-store) operates In a similar fashion- with each and every store I physically SEd.
