Retiring SEing + last W 06-21-2024, 01:06 AM

It's been fun but i've found a career that I love. I can afford most of the things I want and I have a fear that the feds just keep waiting until the losses reach a dollar amount to go after you. What are your thoughts on this?
My last W was with foot locker. I got some shoes , socks, and sandals. claimed i didnt get a shoe and they opened an investigation. after 3 days got refunded. gonna return unused items and call it quits. I'll still be lurking but I cant put my career on the line like that.

As the poster above said, really. Unless you're doing it for crazy high amounts, they aren't going to care about you. Even then, they often won't have the time, resources or honestly care to investigate. SWIM ran a refunding service for quite a while that was doing over 7 figures of refunds a month for several months before there was even a whiff of attention given. Others in that game have been in it succesfully for years. Those guys are the targets for major fraud cases, no law enforcement cares about someone trying to take a few hundred bucks.

You do you, bro.
You won't get caught if you stick to a reasonable limit of refunds. Of course, if you're a dumb fuck and you hit Amazon for years for $200k using the same method and your own name, you'll get a team of lawyers after you and end up in prison for decades.
For me, I would do this even if I had all the money in the world. It's about sticking it to the corporations, getting free toys, refusing to play the game etc ideological bollocks. Always have to stir some shit, otherwise life gets boring.

I think that as long as you stick to not exaggerate none will really go after you, after all if they refund it is because there really is a possibility to send an empty box to a customer or there is the possibility it got lost on the way to him. However if you exaggerate, of course you're going to trigger investigations, lawyers etc. IMO the thing is to remain reasonable

Yeah I don't you're gonna have any issue in the long-term (if they continue like that) refunding time to time isn't a issue
