I have been raised to be Christian but I myself am an Atheist. I just think that religion is a story told to kids when they are younger just to behave and shit etc.

I believe that the chances of a God being there are so low and unneeded it would be honestly foolish to believe in such a thing. I think most people only believe in it because they're born into it and raised with that belief style. If you want an example look at North Korea and how brainwashed all of it's people are but when we look at it from the outside you wonder how people could be so gullible. That is what I see when I look at religious people. I don't mean to offend anyone but that's my outlook on the whole thing. I have no problem with religious people and don't base religion off my friendships that I make. I also hope that their isn't a God because most seem to be very rash and horrible look at this world and the power he/they gave us.

If you think of it logically also if a God does exist would he not see that you're only believing in them because you want to get in heaven rather than not believing in them at all. Putting you at an even worse risk of going to hell for doing this?

Why not?

When believing a religion you must follow it's customs and believe in it's teachings. Most religions teaching go against everything science says which means your believing in something ignorant just "because". That's like saying "I believe space fire-breathing unicorns are real because there's a chance it might be real".
