I don't have slow internet and this is what I do.

Yeah. It's quite logical anyway so you don't have to navigate back to the home page each time.
You should see my tab bar... Sometimes I end up wasting time scrolling through tabs.

Also the database server is still a part of the webserver setup is it not?

1 second Is of no significance to me, but that's just me- each to their own. If It's an Issue for yourself and It's hindering your browsing experience to some degree, then requesting a probable fix Is certainly warranted.

Considering its fairly easy to change a few settings or maybe update software I don't see why not.
