RISK OF FILING A FAKE POLICE REPORT #1
Hello! I'm back with another question regarding SE's. Smile

During the whole of my research, I've came across many SE'rs offering what is so-called "secret method" for refunds. I did some digging and found out that this method involves filing a fake police report using the victims account without their knowledge.

Here comes the question:
What are the risks of filing a police report?
Does filing a fake police report differ from a real one? Surely filing a real one won't hurt...

Do not falsify a PR.

It's simply part of company protocol to move forward with the claim, so It's fine to go ahead and file one.

Understood. Was wondering the same. Though, these "secret method" services other SE'rs offer use a fake PR to their advantage. Meaning that, if anything were to happen, you are at risk. I have also seen many of SE'rs file a legit claim using the victims police department website.

Thanks for the reply!

All the more reason not to falsify a police report.

No questions, no thought.

The best way to go about it is to file the police report, after go ahead and take your refund/replacement. Now when that is all finished go back and contact the police and tell them you would like to remove the claim, the item showed up or just reverse the lie. These police reports on "missing items" don't get touched or looked at for months if ever at all.

Yeah I agree, the police doesn't have time to look at something that is reported as "lost" as it is not their #1 priority. Many people offering services use their victims police department site and files a report online then as you said cancel the request when the refund is successful. Thanks for the reply Smile!

To sum It up, a PR Is used to document that everything you've said Is true and correct and It's filed for record keeping thereafter.

From a company's standpoint, they need It to assess and process claims as stipulated In their protocol.
