I had a few doubts in mind and would be thankful if You guys can help me out :

* When I've bought a domain is it my personal property for as long as I wish or do I have to keep paying :'(:'( some guy every year or whatever...??

* Similarly for the server hosting companies .... Is it a one time deal or do I have to keep paying :rip: them...??

*Can You guys please suggest some cheap ^_^'and reliable hosting companies..??

* If I want to host my own website what'll be the hardware..etc that would be needed ..Do I need to register with someone ... How do I go about it ..??:8-s::8-s:

* How come I can publicly access the source code of a website I design whereas full source codes are not publicly avlb of many Others. Simply Put How do I change the privacy settings of viewing the source code of a website..?? :'(:'(

* Are there any firewalls or similar kind of software avbl that can act as a buffer between the website and the general cloud...

1. Depends on where you get it, It's most likely a small recurring payment.

2. Same as the above, I can guarantee that you won't find a good host that only asks you to pay once.

1) Domains are on yearly basis. So if you buy .com that would be about 9$ per year. It stays as long as you pay every year.

2) Try http://www.empirehostings.com/ They have very cheap plans. 1.99$ per month You can pay annually(yearly) on some hosts.

3) You don't need any other hardware, thats what you are paying the hosting company for. You just add nameservers of host to your domain. Like ns1.website.com

4) No one can view website source codes if its in languages such as PHP. If its html you can use html obfuscators. Just make sure its chmoded to 755 and not 777

5) Most hosting companies have firewalls installed. If you need a personal firewall you can install CSF on your VPS (which you don't need when starting a website). You can buy hardware firewalls but its very expensive.

At point three You misunderstood me..
I meant If I wanted to start my own domain hosting services ...?? What would be the pre requisites..??
That is instead of me paying someone else people pay me..??

Yes you need to buy a VPS from someone first. Then start shared hosting plans. Honestly I think you should read more on the subject before starting.

Staring a hosting company is much more than just buying some hardware. You need a decent infrastructure, fast and reliable network connections, redundancy, at least 1 decent server, not mentioning firewall and other security related hardware... you'll need a support method (phone, email) but with guaranteed support hours, you'll have to find enough customers to get ROI and, last but not least, you have to have knowledge on servers - setup, config and problem analyzing.. you'll need some monitoring as well, and so one, blabla
Like Sage suggested, start of with a vps you can rent at any decent hostingcompany - they usually rent some rackspace in a datacenter. When starting with a small budget, consider shared hosting to start with - small fees with possibility to rent some space without having to know a lot of the technical things behind a server...
