Question Regarding Jaybird #1
A while ago I was able to SE Jaybird using a method including a fake Amazon receipt. It's been a while since, and the X3 ear phones I acquired from that SE no longer work properly, so I'm going to try to and get a new pair.

Does anyone know if Jaybird has caught on and started crosschecking with order numbers on Amazon receipts, or should I use the real receipt and order number that I have from 2017 (out of the 1 year warranty period) and try to sweet talk them into making an exception for me?

I should note that they're currently out of stock on the Jaybird X3 and offering to upgrade me to the Jaybird X4 which is about a $30 price increase as long as my replacement request goes through.

Why not use the "missing Item" method?

They weigh next to nothing- 14 grams (round figures).

I don't see where the missing item method would fall into my situation. I'm claiming to already have the product (which I actually do), and I'm not being asked to have it shipped back.

They simply want a PoP that shows my product is still under warranty so that they can process a replacement for my earphones. I can either fake an Amazon receipt like I've done in the past, or use the receipt that came in the box from the last time I SE'd them.

I'm trying to figure out if anyone has knowledge about them crosschecking their order numbers now (if they don't, I'll just fake another Amazon receipt), but if they do I might try and use my legitimate receipt even though it would show that my product is over a year old and therefore out of warranty. If I take the second route, I'll try and sweet talk them into making an exception for me being out of warranty, but I feel like that may be more difficult because they're already offered to upgrade my X3 earphones to a pair of X4.

You've complicated the SE, which Is not good practice.

You should've opted for the missing Item method to begin with. The refund process would've taken care of Itself.
