Hi,

The last news about linux was that in some distro have problems with kernel. So, question is: is this resolved?

What is the best option to start with Linux?

There was recently an issue w/ Nvidia drivers that broke some stuff, but it was fairly easy to boot into the previous build from grub. If that's what you're referring to, yes it's resolved.

Not really sure what to recommend for someone just getting into Linux. Ubuntu is probably the most widely used and would have the most community support. Mint and PopOS would also be comparable.

If you have the hard drive space, I'd recommend installing VirtualBox on your current setup and trying out a few distros and desktop managers before installing as your primary OS.
