[Question] Does Apple block their products after a refund? #1
Hi!

Just a quick question. I've heard that Apple can block their products when you refund them or ask for a replacement. Did anyone have any experience with it? Is it safe to buy from Apple website or is it better to order for example from Amazon (with the purpose of getting a refund oc)?

Thanks

It likely matters how you obtained the device. I'd say it's likely Apple has the ability to, but it's unlikely they will. Similar things have been done on a carrier-level in the past.

My friend told me about it, but he hasn't got any experience with Apple refunds, that's why I'm kinda questioning if that's true.
Imk Apple is able to remotely lock your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and some watches, but I wouldn't be thinking they could do that when I see all these people having success with Apple.

Idk tho, as I said I don't have much experience nor knowledge in this case..

I think it also depends on the method. Any method where it would be classed as stolen would be much more likely to be blacklisted than if it seems like a warehouse mixup.

Thanks for providing the Info.

They cannot remotely lock the device Itself, but rather (where applicable) blacklist the IMEI and/or serial number.
