we gotta keep it going giving it all up to giant corpos like reddit and discord is not a future i want. Reddit absolutely sucked all personality out of anything thats on there and discord is kinda just a black hole finding any older conversation can be impossible

Reddit has been consistently online and it shows their posts as well on various google searches. Discord doesn't show any and it's more of a community/private messaging rather than a forum. Discord servers dont typically appear on online searches.

It's natural people gravitate towards Discord/Reddit, but there's an issue with letting companies centralize communication. I always ask "what happens when they delete your favorite server or sub-section?" One day there could be much fewer options, so it's always good to branch out. There needs to be more alternative platforms, that way information/ideas can be freely shared.

I don't use Reddit, but Discord is an option for me when I'm not at my PC. I get a notification right away when someone adds me, and I can reply even when I'm not at my PC.
