Project idea #1
Hi guys !

So I start programming in C++ ( some basis in C) and my major problem is to find a project which is feasible, things like RAT's are too difficult for now and each time I get an idea ( e.g games ) I don't know at all where to begin.

So do you have any ideas to "train" my programming skill ? : )

Thanks !

Edit 1 : I already learnt control structures, functions, arrays, pointers, classes and inheritance.

Oh yeah sorry, forgot to tell it.
I already learnt control structures, functions, arrays, pointers, classes and inheritance.

Write a data storage and retrieval program using abstract datatypes. Or a textual game, since they heavily rely on OOP nowadays, and this would test your knowledge of polymorphism.

I already did something similar to your first idea at the University.
The second idea is really good, I will do it.

Thank you : )

One of my first projects was making a fuzzer. Pretty basic, but goes over some key points of C++ such as sockets, string iteration and manipulation, loops, encryption (if you want), and also reading from a config file. While making the fuzzer I also picked up on how some protocols work, which helped me develop some of my own client/server programs. Hope this helped.

The project you make will depend upon how much you've learned so far that you can apply to it, Think of something which you can make by applying everything you've learned so far. For a total beginner A Calculator, Notepad etc. would do the trick.
