Coding has been relevant thus far, so I don't see what can possibly change In 5 years.

i feel coding will always be relevant yes it will get stupid easy with AI but its still in its baby steps we dont fully have the hard ware in place that is fast enough to handle heavy AI once quantum computers get more into the market then we will see a big change in how we code.

Companies will always have legacy systems and programs that will create a demand even for out-dated languages. Your best bet is to focus more on why you'd like to get into programming? Are you more into automating tasks, building tools, database work, or more complex tasks like building OS's, VMs, video/image editors, etc. There's too many paths to focus on programming in general. Figure out what you would like to build and accomplish then go from there.

If you're really looking for an in-demand career for the next 10 years or so and don't care what you're learning, look into cloud computing and the languages each service leader(s) use as well as other common languages associated with clouds. It's getting to be much cheaper, higher availability, and less troublesome to move systems into cloud-based systems.

As far as AI goes, unless you want to go that route, I wouldn't worry much about "AI taking over." We're a long way before AI can truly take over, and even further away from it being a monetarily beneficial for most companies.

I think in the future everything will be based on highly qualified specialists. That is, it won't matter what language you use to write the program, as long as it works well. If you are looking for a job, start by studying vacancies and the requirements that apply to hire a programmer. After that, decide whether you have the skills necessary to work in a particular position. Next, check the market, see which companies are looking for specialists, which vacancies are open in other companies. Then, taking into account your knowledge and skills, choose where you should try to get a job.

Whatever language you support most. It is C in my case. Because I don't like the idea of having to rely on already existing libraries which you can't optimize further without decreasing their portability. Not being able to add non-existing features without sacrificing performance and to decide when to use dynamic memory allocation. It is the portable assembly of almost all microchips.

I don't believe we need quantum computers to reach human level intelligence. The problem is not hardware but the inefficiency of the algorithms we use. Computers can crunch numbers way faster than us, keep far longer texts in its short term memory, has large enough long term memory given even the cheapest laptop has, at least, 1 TB memory if you don't mind your videos having too high resolutions (Are you able to watch and dissect atoms in objects you see just by looking at them from far away? No, you aren't. Neither need the computer.)

I don't agree with that. Most if not all of these supposedly highly qualified specialists will finally be replaced by sub AI's. Most of these route jobs will end up being automaticized by AI no matter how complex it may appear to human mind or "experts". Specializing is for insects. So you need to aim to pursue different fields such as trying to write your own benevolent AGI(Artificial General Intelligence) to oppose against potential treats that may come from another AGI being gonna potentially lost control or be deliberately coded in a malicious way although specializing is still valid in today's circumstances. So you still have a lot of time to pursue doing what you enjoy
