My question is Why AutoIT is not such a popular programming language ?

Well, quite frankly I had never heard of it until I joined this site.
Which says a lot imo because over the past 15 years I have messed with and played around with A LOT of programming and scripting languages including more obscure languages like D and Pike.
But really, from what i know of the language i am not sure what it purports to offer that other existing technologies do not. So why would people use it?

I agree with @Geoff...
Plus the fact it is Microsoft! I personally don't care much about anything made by Microsoft or Oracle.

I don't think scripting languages are all that famous.

don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Google is your friend. I dont actually code in these languages... but there was a period about 8-10 years ago when I became interested in more obscure coding languages and specifically sought out uncommon languages. I did learn the basic syntaxes and some of the details of the languages but I never developed anything in them really.
