Persol is a subsidiary of Luxottica, which also owns Ray-Ban and Oakley. Since Ray-Ban has proven to be an effortless EB, I thought I'd look into Persol.

In this case, the item is a €370 pair of Steve McQueen commemorative sunglasses, which UPS left in a plastic bag hanging on a street-level doorknob. Proof of delivery according to the tracker: received by "bag on door". In the circumstances, I think DNA makes more sense than (M)EB. Maybe that comes later. Thoughts?

PayPal payment failed very badly, the same way it did with Oakley on another occasion. The only functioning payment option was by card. I think Persol and Oakley both have the same broken PayPal account, "Luxottica S.p.a", as opposed to Ray-Ban, which shows up as just "Luxottica" on PayPal. This might be specific to the payment methods offered by their websites for my country.

they basically DNA'ed themselves as @mothered would rightfully say so.

Should be an easy DNA. However, EB could work just as fine.
Hope This Helps

UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTHS...

The first went off without a hitch, and the second doesn't deliver to my region.

Absolutely.

The EB/missing Item method has a proven track record of success.

In my case, I dealt with someone who had an Indian name and seemed to be following a template. I was asked for proof of signature (photo ID with a signature on it). I don't think it's possible to read my initial email and think there are signatures to be compared or verified, not unless they thought Inbag Atdoor was a name; it must have been a template reply. I gave them the photo to move things along.

And then we have this unedited template for a signature:
Quote:Kind Regards,

[Agents first Name]

Persol Customer Care

Got a refund after a day of waiting. Would have gone for a double dip, but I won't be around to receive a replacement. If I had known that ahead of time, I would have stuck with EB, although this was a pretty smooth ride.
