I used and still use a lot of forums.

I think that the best moment was when I actually made an IRL friend on there and met him.

A year ago I had joined a forum that had just started, there were only 23 members and we needed to spread the word about the forum.
One guy from the forum found a vunrable site with lots of visitors and shared it on the forum.
We all joined an irc channel and started hacking the site, it took about 10 hours but we defaced the site and droped the database. It was good for spreading the word, but better yet it was an awesome experience.

I used TTG waaaaay back in the day, but other than that I haven't really invested my time into other forums except this one.
