PHILIPS S/N Warranty Claim #1
Hey guys, I read that Philips was an easy company for the s/n method on here, and I went ahead and tried it. My case has been progressing well, but I've now been sent this email by my rep:
"Thank you for answering our questions. I went ahead and sent you a prepaid FedEx return label via email for you to return your product to us for analysis. You should be receiving it shortly if you haven’t already. If it isn’t automatically forwarded to your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder. The tracking number for the label is [redacted]. Please only include the toothbrush unit. Once we receive your toothbrush, I will send you a new product and notify you of the order information. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions.

What should I do? In my previous email I did say this:

"...However, regarding the shipping of my defective toothbrush, I was wondering if it would be safe to ship it via normal post. Having just looked it up on the Canada Post website, it seems that they clarify that:
"You must not ship batteries and equipment that are:
Damaged
Defective or recalled
Transported for recycling or disposal"
Please advise as to whether or not it might be more prudent to simply dispose/recycle the product, as I am less knowledgeable on the subject than you guys."

But it seems that the rep ignored that. Should I keep pressing with the hazardous battery story, or should I try boxing them? Or another method? Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help/advice as I'm quite inexperienced.

Just say you disposed the unit for safety and health purposes and cannot locate it now

I'm not exactly sure, as I don't have one. All they asked for was the electric toothbrush handle, so whatever that weighs. They're pretty light, in my experience. By the way, as for saying that I already disposed of it, I'm worried that they'll simply say they can't replace without the product and close the case. What do you think?

If the best method would be to box them, would I just leave it empty except for some packing materials, and then close the box with two kinds of tape? That's what I've understood from reading on here. And then when it arrives and they say it's empty, reply that you sent it and hope they replace?

I looked it up and according to this site, Prestige 9900 weight without head is 117g (https://www.electricteeth.com/ca/philips...ean-smart/).

Depends on country .. Philips is ROD.. so even if you ship an envelope without nothing inside still will workor just go for FTIDV3 is easy.

When I did the toothbrush they did requested to send back to them they just send me a new one.

1 month ago I did Prestige 9000 shaver with FTIDV3 work like a charm

ROD? Looked it up and couldn't find anything about it... still trying to figure out all the acronyms lol
I'm located in Canada, but I've heard FTID doesn't work, for example I've seen mothered say so on the forum and in his blog. Also, for your toothbrush case, they sent you a label and stuff, and you didn't do anything and they still sent it?

Just wanna give my two cents: I'm pretty sure the way they handle things in Canada is different. FTID could work, but I've seen many people having the same experience where they'll send you a label but won't care if you actually send it back or not (advance replacement). I got an advance replacement for the Prestige 9900, DNA'd it & then got another one shipped out. They did also ask me to send the old one back, but that was a couple months ago, they haven't reached out whatsoever.

I did a warranty claim in the UK for one about three weeks ago, went smooth asked for nothing basically, then about 4 days later, I did another and they requested my broken device back before they could send out an advanced replacement this time, so I just FTID the label and currently waiting for their response. I will try to update here if I remember.
