what's the actual reason for the 5 post minimum for the SE forum? to some extent its okay but generally its a bit annoying to actually get 5 posts and make reasonable posts that aren't spam lol

Well, just use your common sense to come up with posts that are something other people could relate with! It's not an English class where it's being analyzed and graded, just go beyond simple questions like "what's your favourite colour" and you should be fine.
