The above article explains how to basically be able to modify the macbooks driver/firmware so the webcam can be activated without the LED light flashing on when the cam is turned on.

I've modified all computers in my house to have physical switches to connect/disconnect the camera. It's not incredibly complex, and 100% secure.

That being said, disabling the LED is nice and all, but one could just as easily catch a photo, say, every minute, and get a highly accurate picture of your life, and you wouldn't likely see the LED, as it'd only be on for a moment.

Can you give a guide on that? That sounds like a really fun project. This thread interests me but I refuse to own apple products so I'll never get around to doing it.

Get a soldering iron, a circuit switch, and some solder. Basically, snip snip plug power into the switch.

I just put a sticker over the camera ;D But that is an especially useful mod for doing for a laptop microphone.

btw, if you do the sticker method, in the center of the sticker put a small piece of paper where the camera lens would be, that way none of the sticky crap will get stuck onto your lens.
