This is the exact method I plan to use with my next order.
I'm located in EU and I think it has a high chance to work in my case because in the past I've returned clothes and shoes in literally dogshit condition (stains, dirt etc) and I always got full refund on orders.

For the most part, Nike has been relaxed with returns for quite a while.

Though, there are times when they go through the Ins and outs of returned goods.
